Planning for future childcare demand
Help us plan the type of childcare places we will need in the future and where in the borough they should be.
As more families choose to live in Waltham Forest’s the demand for childcare places is growing.
We know that having access to good childcare improves the life chances of our young people so we want to make sure that we have enough spaces available for each type of childcare.
The Council has a statutory duty to ensure there is sufficient and accessible high quality early years and childcare places in the borough.
How do we plan ahead?
That’s why we are carrying out a survey of existing childcare and pre-school nursery places and asking residents to help us estimate probable future demand.
The information we get from this survey will help us plan the type of childcare places we will need in the future and where in the borough they should be. The survey will be live on line from Monday 11 March 2019.
We have appointed consultants, Premier Advisory, to do some telephone interviews with parents and if you’d be happy to talk to them please email your contact details to Ellie Hooper. By taking part in a short telephone interview, you will be entered into a prize draw and have a chance to win one of 20 prizes of a £20 shopping voucher, so you could be a lucky winner too!
If you’re unable to take part in a telephone interview, we’d still like to hear from you by completing an online survey on our website. We hope you will find a few minutes to complete this to help us get the information we need to establish current and future childcare needs for our Waltham Forest families.
Closing date for responses is Sunday 14 April 2019
