Henry Maynard Primary School

We are a community school maintained by the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

At our school:
- Quality teaching and learning comes first;
- Everyone is special and works together to achieve the best possible results;
- Everyone is kind and respectful to each other so that everyone can enjoy being at school;
- We encourage visitors and helpers and make them feel welcome;

Our school is a community.
We recognise the importance of parents and carers as partners in their children's education.  We do all we can to encourage their active involvement and seek their views regularly.  We ask that parents or carers encourage and support their children's learning by reading with them regularly and talking to them about the world in which we live.  We have open evenings each term when parents or carers can meet their children's class teacher. We have an active parent-teacher association called the Friends of Henry Maynard School.

We are involved in many activities in our local community and have strong links with local primary and secondary schools as well as the sixth form colleges.  We raise funds for local, national and international charities and have an established association with a neighbouring care home.

We believe that every child is entitled to equal access to an engaging curriculum, regardless of race, gender, class or disability.

We are committed to promoting a learning and teaching environment that embeds the values of inclusive educational practices for all. Through a child centred approach, we aim to ensure that education is accessible and relevant to all our learners, to respect each other and to celebrate diversity and difference.
