Outward- Specialist Floating Support for Adults with Learning Disabilities
Floating Support in Waltham Forest
Outward has been supporting people with Learning Disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) for over 40 years. Recognised as a provider of quality services by The National Autistic Society, our autism services are Autism Accredited.
We offer floating support services for people with learning disabilities in Waltham Forest.
Floating support is our service providing domestic advice and support to people over the age of 18, to enable them to maintain independence in their own home. Floating support services are short-term (supporting people for less than 2 years) and are flexible enough to support a person regardless of the type of accommodation in which he or she lives.
This kind of support service helps people to become more independent, and may mean that they can continue to live independently at home when, without support, it would be difficult to do so.
The type of things floating support can help with include:
- Maintaining a home or tenancy
- Budgeting and benefit claims
- Developing independent living skills
- Gaining access to other services, including important health services
- Helping to make sure accommodation is safe and secure.
We cannot provide personal or health care through floating support. Other sources of funding are available for these services.
