Become, the charity for children in care and young care leavers
Become provides help, support and advice so that children in care and young care leavers can take control of their lives and unleash their potential. The charity helps young people move towards becoming the person they are meant to be - towards a life well lived.
The Become Coaching Programme is a free service for care-experienced young people aged 16 - 25 who live in London. The six-month programme focuses on the future, not the past. With a mixture of one-to-one and group coaching sessions, young people create personal goals and work towards them, while learning about themselves and their strengths. Sessions take place at Become’s headquarters in Islington. To find out more and get involved, click here.
Become’s other services include the Care Advice Line and targeted magazines for children and young people in care and Propel, a UK-wide higher education website for care leavers. In partnership with young people with experience of care, Become works to improve the system by ensuring that their voices and perspectives shape policy and service provision.
Children and young people in care and care leavers who have questions about anything to do with their rights and entitlements, being in or leaving care can contact the Care Advice Line for free on 0800 023 2033 (Monday to Friday, 10:30am – 3pm) or at firstname.lastname@example.org
