Ashiana Network

Ashiana Networks Purpose is to Empower Black & Minority Ethnic (BME) women, particularly  South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women who are experiencing all forms of Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) including domestic violence, sexual violence and harmful practices such as forced marriage, honour based violence, female genital mutilation with support and safe housing - enabling them to make positive and appropriate choices for themselves.

Refuges

We have 3 Refuges, providing 21 bed spaces to women from South Asian, Turkish  and Middle Eastern backgrounds experiencing Domestic Abuse or at risk of forced Marriage.

 

Advice

We offer over the phone advice and guidance to women and girls who need support with issues around domestic abuse, sexual violence and/or harmful practices.

The service can provide some one to one appointments and support work and also takes calls from professionals.

 

Counselling

We offer generic and specialist one to one sessions for women and girls who have       experienced domestic violence, sexual violence or harmful practices.

 

Training

We offer professionals training around harmful practices and VAWG (Violence against Women and Girls).  We also work within communities and with schools  to create awareness around VAWG, deliver in house workshops and training.

 

Support Groups

We offer an 8 week programme for survivors of domestic/sexual violence

aiming to build confidence and self esteem and to help participants recognise the warning signs of abuse.

 

Immigration

We have an in-house solicitor who can provide immigration advice and support

She helps with applications for leave to remain and concessions that allow eligible destitute women who have experienced domestic violence to access public funds.
