South Grove Primary School
South Grove Primary School recognises that our children and their families are at the heart of all we do. We passionately believe that every pupil is important and that we have a responsibility to ensure that every pupil achieves success and becomes the very best that they can be.
Our key aim is to provide an innovative and successful school for our local community which not only raises standards for the pupils but also supports the parents, family members and wider community in developing their skills and in the long term development of the community.
The policies and practices of the school and improvement reflect the needs of the local community and expectations required to drive up standards. In response to this we have challenging targets and goals for ourselves that will continue to mark our development over the next few years.
We strongly believe that positive relationships are vital to our success and we therefore are committed to working in partnership with all our stakeholders. We want everyone to contribute to the future development of the school. We believe that partnership is essential to a successful and fulfilling education for our pupils’ and that the school listens to the views and suggestions of all its community members. We want you to help us in our long term improvement agenda.
We recognise the important role parents have to play in ensuring that progress and outcomes for our pupils are outstanding and therefore we welcome a variety of ways of working with parents.
We want children who attend South Grove to leave us in Year 6 with the academic achievement and skills and positive mind needed to achieve their ambitions and to go on developing themselves to lead happy, successful lives.
Nursery with Free Early Education places is available at this school.
Breakfast and After School Clubs
Every day the school runs a popular Breakfast Club from 7:30am – 8:45am. The children are able to have a relaxing and healthy start to the day with provision of a cooked breakfast with cereals, toast, juice and yoghurts on offer. Activities are provided or the children can chill out reading or playing games.
The school’ s After School Club is run by the YMCA from 3:15am to 6:00pm on the school’ s premises. This will also provide a range of activities for the children to do as well as providing a snack. They will also collect the children from clubs run on the school’s premises.
Extra Curricular Clubs
South Grove believes in providing a rich learning environment outside of the school day.
Children will have the opportunity to join a variety of before and after school clubs to enhance and enrich their personal interests and talents. A range of clubs are on offer each term. Information can be found by clicking on the Extended Schools Club timetables below or by looking at the School’s Notice Boards or School Clubs Notice Board.
Many of the clubs are run by external providers such as Leyton Orient, but many are run by school staff with a special interest in particular subjects. There is a varied charge for these clubs to cover the cost of the club leaders.
All notifications of clubs are also advertised in the School’s Newsletter each term. Alternatively come into the School Office for information.
