The Careers Service is responsible for tracking all 16 and 17 year olds to ensure that they have successfully moved on to their chosen option after leaving school or college.
We work with schools and colleges to find out what young people are doing, or planning to do. If we are unable to obtain this information we may telephone, email or write to young people and their parents/carers.
The law requires all young people in England to continue in education, employment or training until at least their 18th birthday.
