Hospital and Home Teaching Service
HHTS is funded by Waltham Forest Borough Council to provide education for young people who are unable to attend school for medical reasons until they are medically fit to return. The service requires medical consent to teach young people at home.
The service is based at Whipps Cross Hospital and facilitates in the Acorn Ward schoolroom; at children's bedside on Acorn Ward; at our Education Centre (also based at Whipps Cross Hospital) and in children's own homes.
Our qualified and experienced teachers work closely with schools, medical staff and families to provide continuity of education.
Referrals can be made by a range of professionals - please feel free to contact the service for advice on making a referral.
